Add ‘tea spitting’ to disgusting food tampering social media trend

Tampering with food for accolades from strangers on the internet is a thing now, thanks to a minor who licked ice cream in a grocery store.

In what has become another reminder of how society is in decline, “tea spitting” has become the new social media trend that will no doubt have consumers checking containers before they buy.

“Tea spitting” is as simple as it sounds: a guy -identified by the public as Shiloh Greaves- opened a container of Arizona Sweet Tea and spit in it.

Greaves has since deactivated his social media accounts.

Fortunately, one Twitter user managed to unite a band of virtual vigilantes to track down the perpetrator’s identity, in hopes that authorities would track him down.

The food tampering trend often carries a heavy price- in some jurisdictions, the penalty for messing with unpurchased food carries a sentence of twenty years in prison.

PJ Media’s Megan Fox was so disgusted by the trend that she published an article on the matter, demanding swift justice for those who mess with food.

“The psychopathy behind this behavior is too upsetting to contemplate and it must, therefore, be summarily stomped out,” she wrote. “Don’t wait until it grows into some Tide Pod-eating outbreak.”

Another person has been arrested for seizing a Blue Bell ice cream container from a grocery store and licking it, according to authorities in Louisiana.

36-year-old Lenise Lloyd Martin III was arrested after going to a Belle Rose-area grocery store and licking the ice cream.

Martin claimed he had purchased the ice cream and showed the manager the reciept.

“We do know that he paid for a container that was identical to the one that he did lick and we could not find it on the shelf,” said, Commander Lonny Cavalier of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to WBRZ, Martin was arrested and booked in the parish prison for the unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and publicity, 1 count of criminal mischief for tampering with property.
