California teacher arrested for engaging in ‘lewd acts’ with student

A teacher in Los Angeles County has been arrested after reportedly sending sexually explicit photos to an underage male student.

Amanda Quinonez was taken into custody following accusations and evidence pointing to her misconduct with a minor while in a position of authority.

According to the LA Times, Quinonez was released from custody Wednesday after posting a $50,000 bail.

A teacher with the Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, Quinonez was hired on as a language arts teacher at the school in 2016.

Principal Dr. Greg Anderson said the Corona-Norco School District has a “zero-tolerance for any behavior that endangers our students.”

The Riverside County district attorney’s office has not yet decided whether it will file charges in the case, and law enforcement agencies overseeing the case state that the investigation is ongoing.
