A Florida mother was arrested after she threatened to shoot up an elementary school because her son had been suspended from the riding the bus, officials said.
The mother, identified as 28-year-old Melissa Giddens, was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly called the College Park Elementary School in Ocala and made threatening remarks over voicemail, according to the Ocala Police Department.
Authorities determined there was no “imminent or perceived threat to the students or the school through the investigation.”
The police department also tweeted, “There is NO danger to the students or school.”
An officer went to Giddens’ home and played her the recording, according to the Associated Press. She told the officer she was frustrated with the school and bus driver. Details on the son’s alleged fighting were not immediately clear.
Giddens was charged with making a threat to kill or injure and is currently being held in Marion County Jail.
