HBCU Delaware State University denies Joe Biden’s claims that he got his start there

Joe Biden has some explaining to do after Delaware State University refutes his claim that he got his start there.

The college came out publicly after a video surfaced of the former Vice President giving a Town Hall event in South Carolina last October.

“I got started out of a HBCU, Delaware State,” he told students attending the event. “Now, I don’t want to hear anything negative about Delaware State. They’re my folks.”

As it turned out, however, Biden was already a seasoned politician when he first visited the university in the 2000s as a speaker.

“Vice President Biden did not attend DSU,” the college’s director of news service, Carlos Holmes, said in a statement.

Another issue with Biden’s statement is that DSU is a historically black university, and that he never actually attended.

However, according to the New York Post, it is likely Biden -who has a case of memory failure from time to time- graduated from the similarly named University of Delaware in the mid 1960s, before going to Syracuse University College of Law, where he failed a class following accusations of plagiarism.

Biden’s representatives were not available for comment.
