A New York woman has been arrested after allegedly giving a teenager the Covid-19 vaccine without permission.

PIX-11 reports Laura Parker Russo, 54, is accused of injecting what detectives believe was a Covid vaccine in a 17-year-old boy at her Sea Cliff, Long Island, home Friday. She did not have his parents’ consent or medical authorization to do so, police said Saturday.

According to ABC7, the teen went home and told his mother what happened. She immediately called police, who investigated and discovered Russo is not a medical professional or authorized to administer vaccines.

Russo was arrested and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession. She was issued a desk appearance ticket for Jan. 21.

Police did not say why the teen was at Russo’s home or how she obtained the vaccine. No other details were provided.
