Illegal immigrant who raped 12-year-old girl sentenced

An illegal immigrant was sentenced to twenty years for following a 12-year-old girl into a bathroom, getting her number and raping her hours later.

38-year-old Valentin Ariosto Alfonso-Arguello was sentenced after being charged last September in relation to the rape, which took place near Jackson, Mississippi.

On the day of the incident, Alfonso-Arguello met the girl at a Ridgeland restaurant where he worked and forced her to give him her number. Later that night, he was seen dropping the girl off outside of her home.

The girl would later say that Alfonso-Arguello texted her after his work shift, then raped her in his truck, despite being told “No” several times.

According to FOX 35, Assistant District Attorney Katie Moulds said that the man’s 20-year sentence would have a suspension of eight years. Following the suspension, he will be subject to deportation or be forced to serve half a decade of probation and register as a sex offender.
