One of the Colorado school shooters was transitioning transgender teen

One of the two attackers in a recent school shooting in Colorado -who was initially identified as a juvenile female- has been reported to be “transgender.”

The minor, who accompanied 18-year-old Devon Erickson in the attack on the STEM School at Highlands Ranch, is a biological female who is in transition to adopt more masculine traits.

Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock attempted to avoid gender-related questions at a Wednesday morning press conference.

“Right now, we are identifying the individual as a female, because that’s where we’re at,” he said. “We originally thought the juvenile was a male by appearance.”

According to the Washington Examiner, the two shooters committed the act less than a month after the 20th anniversary of Columbine High shooting, and did so at a school located less than 5 miles from the school that gained notoriety in the 1990s.

The students were reportedly spiteful towards their fellow classmates, and sought revenge. In the ensuing assault, one student was killed and eight more were wounded.
