The daughter of Congresswoman Maxine Waters reportedly used around $240,000 of the California Democrat’s campaign money, according to new records.
Karen Waters assisted her 82-year-old mother’s re-election campaign, performing “state mailer management” and “Get Out the Vote” services.
In new FEC filings, it was discovered around $212,600 in funds forked out to Karen Waters were broken down into 26 entries such as “slate mailer management” fees, “office expenses” and “canvassing.”
The funds were moved between March 2019 and September 2020.
Interestingly, Karen Waters’ public relations firm, Progressive Connections, has been working for her mother’s campagins since 2004.
According to the New York Post, other payments were also issued, giving Karen Waters around $1 million since 2004.
A member of the House Financial Services Committee, Maxine Waters is a long-time member of the US Congress and has held California’s 43rd Congressional District since 2013.
