A Russian tennis star has been released from custody following her arrest over match-fixing allegations related to the French Open.

Russian player Yana Sizikova was accused of cheating last year and was recently taken in by law enforcement in France.

“She has been released, her custody has been lifted,” Frederic Belot told Reuters.

The Russian -who has a decent social media footprint- was taken into custody the day prior.

The charges were related to an investigation related to a match between Romanian pair Andreea Mitu and Patricia Mari and Sizikova and American Madison Brengle in the 2020 French Open.

It was alleged that Sizikova and her doubles partner lost a service game on purpose.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency was not available for comment.
