A Salt Lake City man was reportedly attacked with a fire extinguisher by an irate business owner who was none too happy with the man’s refusal to extinguish his cigarette.
Jon Bird, who was assisting with an arts festival, was smoking in the downtown area after a security guard said it was alright to do so.
According to KUTV, a local business owner by the name of Alex Jamison disagreed with the policy and asked Bird to put out the cigarette- and used the fire extinguisher to spray Bird with the contents.
Bird notified law enforcement, but Jamison left the scene before they arrived.
Later, Bird took to social media to let everyone know what Jamison did, and even posted video to social media.
“Keep an eye out for this guy at the Gallivan Center,” he wrote. “Need to get his info. Assaulted me and ran from the scene before the cops showed up. Anyone know any attorneys that can help? Never thought this would happen.”
It is unknown if charges will be filed.
