Tom Cruise is coming back for another round of fighter flying, as the trailer for “Top Gun: Maverick” rocked San Diego Comic-Con, where it debuted Thursday.
“Thirty-four years ago, I made a movie in San Diego,” Cruise said at the convention, according to USA Today, referencing the 1986 film “Top Gun.” He continued: “And you’ve all asked for many years, when are you going to do another one?”
The answer: It will arrive in 2020.
The 2½-minute trailer features plenty of shots of Cruise flying around in a jet.
Cruise told fans at Comic-Con he worked with the Navy to make the air scenes in the film more authentic.
The film will feature Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris in addition to Cruise, according to IMDB. It’s set for a release early next summer.
“Everything you see in this film, it’s for real,” Cruise said.
