TV reporter in LA has the internet cracking up after on-air gaffe about deceased man

A news reporter in California made an inappropriate gaffe while covering the death of a man shot 76 times by police following a dangerous chase, claiming the suspect was “unavailable for comment.”

Eliuth Penaloxa Nava, the man killed earlier this year after he led police on a chase, was killed after being fatally shot by police in Anaheim. At the time of the chase, the suspect was armed and on unknown substances.

In true LA fashion, KTLA reporter Sara Welch said that the deceased suspect could not be reached for comment.

“We tried to reach out to the man who died in this pursuit. They were unavailable for comment,” she said, using a bizarre pronoun.

According to the Daily Mail,  journalist Yashar Ali shared a clip of the moment on Twitter, which has accrued over 57,000 likes, 13,000 retweets and 1,500 comments.

It is unknown if Welch part-times as a spirit medium.
