Woman climbs into lion enclosure at Bronx Zoo; Harambe incident avoided

A reckless woman climbed over the safety barricade and into the Bronx Zoo’s lion exhibit over the weekend, causing quite a spectacle that could have gotten someone killed.

The woman was filmed by Hernan Reynoso, who was visiting the zoo with his family when his wife pointed her out..

At first, Reynoso thought it was part of the exhibit, but then noticed the woman was dancing to taunt a male lion.

“She just was there, dancing, saying, ‘Hi,’ to the lion and everything and that was crazy,” Reynoso told NBC4.

Eventually, the lion became annoyed, and Reynoso took his family elsewhere- lest he expose them to a mauling, or even worse, another Harambe incident.

The Bronx Zoo gave a statement on the matter, expressing their disdain for people stupid enough to pull such a stunt.

“This action was a serious violation and unlawful trespass that could have resulted in serious injury or death. Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff and animals safe,” the statement read. “We have a zero tolerance policy on trespass and violation of barriers.”

It is unknown if the woman faced any legal repercussions for her actions.
