A renowned jazz musician an his young son were accosted by a woman at a hotel, who claims that his lad stole her iPhone.
Keyon Harrold, who has performed with the Miles Electric Band, posted a video on Sunday, showing the audacity of a woman who accused his teenage son of stealing her phone.
“I hate I have to post this,” Harrold wrote on social media. “I typically try to keep things positive, but nothing about this video is positive. The lady in this video assaulted my 14-year-old son [Keyon Harrold Jr.] and me as we came down from our room in the Arlo Soho to get breakfast. This person quote on quote ‘lost’ her iPhone, and apparently, my son magically acquired it, which merely ridiculous.”
The woman, who was wearing a mask, lunged out towards Keyon Junior before taking cover behind the hotel manager.
When the young man was asked to display his home screen, he redused.
According to the Rolling Stone, the woman had checked out earlier, while the Harrolds were currently booked guests.
The woman eventually attacked the teen, scratching him.
Later, the woman’s phone was returned- by an Uber driver who found it inside the rideshare vehicle.
“No apology from her after this traumatic situation to my son, not me,” Harrold wrote. “No apologies from the establishment. This shit happens so often. It needs to stop!!! If anyone recognizes this person, please tag or DM.”
Following accusations of racial profiling, the Arlo Hotel issued an apology.
“We’re deeply disheartened about the recent incident of baseless accusation, prejudice, and assault against an innocent guest of Arlo hotel,” the company wrote.
